I had lifeless eyes, a hollow belly, and a stressed out heart. I obeyed the commands of an eating disorder, chained to the duty of dying for perfection. My eyes had slowly been transformed to blur out truth.
I went to the closet to grab a blanket for the Minister, but then I hesitated for just a moment. What if friends come to visit? What if our heater breaks? This is our warmest blanket… Do I just give it away?
He tried to surface three times and each time the current pulled him back down. He said it was like being wrapped in a wet blanket. The believers, seeing that he wasn’t surfacing, began weeping and crying out to God. “Oh God, please help him!”
I have had a few powerful experiences that despite my current dogmas or lack thereof are real just the same.

It wasn’t an overnight change, it was more like the Israelites wandering in the desert for 40 years, when “suddenly” it happened. After yet another long day of drinking, I got into my car and started to drive home. I know, stupid, but it was what I did back then.
When someone does something for me without me having to ask, when I meet someone and they give me a great big smile and say “Good Morning!” it makes me feel good all over. When another says “Wow, you’re doing such a great job!” it makes my whole day! It’s just miraculous!
As a teen, I dabbled in witchcraft. Then, as a Senior in high school I proclaimed myself an atheist and lived that way for a major portion of my life. When my husband and I were married 25 years ago, the Pastor made me promise that I would one day become a member of that church. That promise came back and visited my memory often
Before I could even open my door, he jumped out with haste and dashed across the street. Then I realized the door was LOCKED!
Within the same instant, the car began to roll backwards. I checked both doors nervously. The windows wouldn’t budge.
